Grand Cross to H.E. The Ambassador of Jordan to the Order of Malta H.E. Fayiz Khouri

H.E. Mr. Fayz Khouri Plenipotenciary Ambassador to the Order of Malta contribution was fundamental in promptly obtaining the approval of the appointment of Prince Lorenzo Borghese as resident Ambassador of the Order of Malta to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the mandate of Amb. Khouri, the collaborative relations between the Order and Jordan in the humanitarian field have strengthened, new frontiers of collaboration were explored and thoroughly checked.
Issues like Interfaith dialogue support for health services provided to the poor and refugees, as well as the eldest were brought to the front of the Order and Jordan’s attention.

In October 2019, Amb. Khouri favoured the courtesy visit of Prince El Hassan bin Talal to the Grand Master, Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre. During their meeting, the following topics were addressed: interreligious dialogue, the violation of human rights, the construction of a humanitarian platform to support peace, water, energy and climate.

In 2020 at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, Ambassador Khoury strongly supported the Program Doctor to Doctor, in selecting high ranking MoFA officials and Medical Doctor with great expertise in infectivology, virology, Hospital Management and Govermental approach to public Health issues so to satisfy the guide lines requested by the Order to offer high services in latest updates of Covid-19 treatments.
