Reception celebrating the Programs for disabled children and Blessing of the New Medical Mobile Unit

At the presence of the Latin Patriarchal Vicar of Jordan mons. Jamal Khedr , the Minister of Social Development HE Ayman Al-Maflah, many Ambassadors to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and of representatives of local and Intranational Associations the inauguration day was held to present the first project “Healthcare and Rehabilitation for Children with Neurological Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders”.

Promoted by the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Jordan and funded by ACISMOM and CISOM, H.E. Ambassador Lorenzo Borghese welcomed a Memorandum of Understanding with the local partner Our Lady of Peace, represented by the Director General of the Centre Abuna Shawki Baterian.

Specifically, the Project provides specialized training in rehabilitation, orthopedic and neuro-psychiatric assistance by CISOM doctors in cooperation with the staff of the Our Lady of Peace Center, in addition will assign medical devices to implement and re-equip the rehabilitation department.

H.E. Ambassador Borghese affirmed: “This event is for the Order of Malta the first step on a long journey, here in Jordan, in favor of children in need. Our commitment as for our historic commitment is to provide the best quality assistance. ”

Thanks to the significant cooperation between Our Lady of Peace Center and Caritas Jordan, a second Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Caritas Jordan and ACISMOM (Italian Association Sovereign Order of Malta)

The achievement of this day finds its basis in the will of four organizations that have decided to consolidate their collaboration thanks to their commitment for children in need.

The partnership between OLOPC, the Order of Malta and Caritas Jordan will allow, from now on, to implement and develop cooperation programs in the country.

Among the activities of the programs, the newly acquired Mobile Medical Unit which will be operated to visit children from the distant provinces who’s parents cannot have access to the specialized Centre in Amman.

The Patriarchal Vicar of Jordan Msgr. Jamal Kader prayed for all of us and blessed the Mobile Clinic.
